festivals and traditions of Villafranca de Córdoba

San Jose’s Day

In Villafranca de Córdoba, the feast of Saint Joseph is celebrated annually on the weekend closest to March 19th, becoming a meeting point for both residents and visitors. Organized by the Cultural Association of the San José Neighborhood, in collaboration with the Town Council, it is one of the town’s most deep-rooted and well-attended traditions.

Activities include live music and various tastings, such as the great grilled sardine feast and the famous ajoarriero (a traditional garlic-based dish).

This celebration not only honors the patron saint of the neighborhood but also strengthens bonds between neighbors, preserving local traditions and standing as a prime example of community participation and cultural heritage in the town.
