Guadalquivir Iron Bridge

The Iron Bridge is no longer used for vehicle traffic into and out of the town, having been transformed into one of the most attractive pedestrian areas for both residents and visitors to Villafranca de Córdoba.

This bridge has become an iconic gateway to the town. By day, its red color is a pleasure to behold, while at night its blue illumination makes it one of the most photographed landmarks in Villafranca. Built in the early 20th century, it was originally used for transporting heavy goods during the construction of the Guadalmellato Reservoir and to facilitate the crossing of people and products, which previously had to be done using the old barges of Villafranca.
