Andalusia Day

Coexistence, tradition, and gastronomy in the heart of the Parque de las Cespedillas

Every February 28th, Villafranca de Córdoba is dyed green and white to celebrate Andalusia Day. More than an official holiday, it is a day of brotherhood where associations, groups, and neighbors gather in a privileged setting: the Parque de las Cespedillas.

The celebration starts early by honoring the roots of the land with the traditional miller’s breakfast (desayuno molinero). Village bread, drizzled with the best virgin olive oil and accompanied by cod, serves to gather strength and kick off a day dedicated to sharing.

The Great Stew

The main course of the day is, undoubtedly, the gastronomy. In a festive and outdoor atmosphere, a popular tasting of the traditional stew (potaje) is offered. A home-flavored stew shared among all attendees, accompanied by local wine and refreshments, reinforcing the community spirit that defines Villafranca.

A day for everyone

The Parque de las Cespedillas becomes the perfect setting for coexistence. While enjoying the food, the air is filled with the sweet aroma of the afternoon. It is a tradition to prepare and taste chocolate and typical local desserts, putting the sweet finishing touch on an unforgettable day.
